Lettuce safety

Can I feed my chickens scraps of different lettuces I pruned from the garden before they are laying age? Or do I have to worry about calcium?

I haven't given any treats outside of mealworms because I'm afraid of calcium affecting their kidneys before egg age.

Reasonable amounts of leftovers are entirely acceptable, especially garden greens.

yes, this is fine! Even when they lay this is fine! There is not enough calcium in lettuce to matter.

I grow about 6-8 different types of lettuces for my bunnies and my chickens get some daily too. Except the kale, that is limited because of the high oxalic acid.
