Lewie may have lost his mind.....

Lewie has been doing some rather interesting things today and I can't figure out if he's playing or what his deal is. For example, we were all gathered around in the kitchen/dinning room playing and talking. Suddenly Lewie decided to stretch his neck straight up and quack as if he were surprised or spooked. Immediately he lowered his head to the floor and ran top speed around our kitchen island, bill barely off the floor. We all just kinda looked and laughed....until he did it 3 more times. Has he lost his mind?

Lol. That almost sounds like the victory lap the drakes do after they mate. Don't know why he's doing that in your case, though.

When my runners do this, I say they are "feeling it." It is a burst of exuberance, as far as I can tell and it seems to be related to springtime. The hormones kick in, the air feels good, they run around, heads down, bills open sometimes, almost like they are chasing a fly.

They may hop into the swim pan and make turkey tails, round and round, splashing everyone, then float, flattened, for a moment, then squirt out of the swim pan and run around some more.

Feeling it.
