I am now taking deposits on my Large Fowl 100% English Imported Chocolate Orpington Chicks. My parent stock is direct from England and they are from fantastic show quality lines. The birds are exhibiting all of the stunning characteristics of the English Orpington and already look like brown beachballs with legs. I am only allowing a few deposits at the moment to reserve spots on the waiting list for these beautiful birds. Placing a deposit insures that you will be ahead of other buyers and also allows you to lock in the price should the market price be higher for the chicks in the spring. Pre-ordered Large Fowl Chocolate Chicks are $200 each with a 3 chick minimum. The deposit is 50% of the total amount of the order. The other 50% is paid before shipping. The shipping cost will be calculated based upon your zip code and the size of your order. I do not like to ship less than 8 chicks in one box, so less expensive filler chicks are available to those that want less than 8 of these beautiful birds. The following breeds are available separately or as filler chicks: Cream Legbar, Olandsk Dwarf, Black Orpingtons, or Jubilee Orpingtons.
The chicks will ship in March or April. I obviously cannot predict the exact date when the hens will begin laying, but I will keep each person on the list informed and updated on the process. The photos above are of some of the actual parent stock.
I am only taking deposits on my large fowl chocolates at the moment. However, I also have other rare colors of Large Fowl Orpingtons that will be available this spring including Silver Laced, Mottled , Legbar (Crele), and Lavender Barred, as well as the ultra rare Svart Hona or Swedish Black Hen. All of these breeds will be released in just a few months, so stay tuned!
