Holy cow - does green fire have a page on BBB?? I would file a complaint. $700 for 30 chicks, not the breeds you wanted and only partial refunds after they changed their policy?? Yikes!

My order was great, I got what I paid for, and they seemed healthy. But they are one of the places I may have gotten Mareks from, and just the overwhelming amount if negative reviews is nothing to shake a stick atThank you - in trying to cover my bases I ordered from at least 4 hatcheries this year. I am considering canceling my Feather Lover order now in advance of it's shipment after pulling up their BBB listing and reading here. Did you have a bad experience personally or just the same reviews as mine? My last one to ship is Meyer and I'm cautiously optimistic about them. I have always had great success with McMurray but they sold out within the hour I logged onto Early Access this year.
Meyer is great, got my girls from them last year. Lost one from failure to thrive but the other 7 are all doing great nowThank you - in trying to cover my bases I ordered from at least 4 hatcheries this year. Sorry you had a bad experience with them.Duly noted!Indeed: it seems people have either great experiences with them or terrible per Yelp and the Google listing seems to reflect that as well. I was finally able to cancel my remaining order with them and was refunded for it and the order that had never shipped after a month of emailing/calling. Re: the two DOA they claimed they put two extra in my shipment so were not refunding the dead ones. So in actuality I got 30 substituted for the same price as 52. Never again.
Funny enough i was just looking at their site moments ago. Thanks for the warning, almost made a purchase. Did you authorize substitution or did they just take the liberty?Posting here since their Google listing doesn't seem to get much traffic and is scattered. I am on week 4 with my chicks; originally ordered 52, and they shipped 33 for the same price after substituting a whole bunch which I think should have been my first warning sign. Only two were dead on arrival, one very weak but made it. Another bantam died three days later but I didn't claim. Now two have developed eye abnormalities and one a prolapsed vent, so am hoping I don't have an entire 30 of Marek's disease present, but time will tell. My actual problem comes with the fact that in addition to the 33 shipped for the same price as 52 through convenient subs, I placed an order on March 12th, and promptly realized my mistake and canceled it on the morning of the 13th; I waited about a week for a refund to post, but it did not, even though I am well ahead of their cancelation policy 11 days before Friday before shipment for full refund. My order still reads a 50% amount DUE on their website, and after three emails and two calls I have still not received a response three weeks later. The combination of factors has me inclined to simply cancel my May order now when assessing the quality to price and the very questionable substitutions of twenty chicks for an equal price to some of their most expensive. Not a great first impression to say the very least.
