LG...Can't fit the turner chord out of the bator. help needed

I see the slots where the power chord comes out of the bator, when I put the chord into the slots the bator doesn't shut all the way. Can I have some help with this please?

take the scotch tape and tape the top to the bottom.

Thank you, I made the slot, but its still a little space. I might put scotch tape on it, but how would I put more water in?
