LG Still Air temp questions

Well my first hatch on my LG Still air had a great and I mean GREAT hatch on shipped eggs. Had it on the grate at 99.5 then I moved the thermometer to top of eggs at 99.5 and they have been hatching OK not great BUT I am dealing with different batches of shipped eggs so who knows the reason..

This is my 3rd hatch in a still air LG. It stays pretty consistent at 102 on top of the eggs. For some reason this time it does fine for a couple days and I will stop by to check on it and 6 times have found it spiked at 104..anyone think this will effect the eggs much? Humidity is average 40. The eggs are silkies and what I am concerned about is that they are smaller eggs and the heat could effect them quicker. They are at 10 days so....am afraid it may have fried the embryos. I agree..better a bit lower temp is better than higher. Last hatch all went great til the last 6 eggs. I fell asleep to wake and find it at 106! Had 4 that where fully formed..ready to hatch. Think they could had a heat stroke. Once I get it to the temp I want I leave it alone..could it be when the water evaporates making the humidity lower..raises the temp?? I hate to say it...as much as I love my LG...I really love my Hovabator.

I have 20 in an LG still air and I've had them at 99.5 at the top of the eggs (because there is so much conflicting info). We go into lockdown today - we'll see. Here's hoping!!!

I have had probably 4 or 5 of those LG still airs and micro managing temps only helps improve the hatch rate. You will have some hatch but shouldn't lose them all. I have models that do better jobs than others. In warmer parts of the year they will run hotter and fluctuate more. I have had spikes of 103 to 104 still had good hatches for the quality of incubator that LGs are.

I am keeping mine at 102 going into lock down april 9th. We will see what happens
