I got a $50 dollar bill from my Mom for Christmas. I rat-holed it in my purse until I found something I really wanted. Well it sure wasn't anything from the mall.

I was at TSC when I saw it.

A Furminator!!! It is for shedding dogs and cats. I went home with my prize and pulled the mats from my Aussie, Polly and Great Pyrenees, Paris. Then Paris started blowing her winter coat. Last week I brushed out a plastic grocery bag full of fur in one evening. Tonight I did the same. Paris squirms with delight, gives me lots of slobbery, drippy slurps in the face, lays on the side I am trying to brush and takes off like a rocket to chase an errant squirrel. Then she comes back and we start over. At the end of our session, I am as furry as she is.

This Furminator REALLY WORKS!! I certainly reccommend it to anyone who has a hairy dog. What brush do you use on your dog and does anyone else use a Furminator?

I love my Furminator!!!!!!!!! Great for getting out that undercoat, though the one issue is its not really good at getting down through a medium length exceptionally thick coat. I still had to use a slicker for that, but they work really really well for line brushing longer haired dogs!

My cat LOVES the furminator. He will come running over if I pick it up. I wish my dogs were as enthusiastic. They tolerate it, and boy does the hair fly! I try to do it out on the deck with a slight breeze to waft away all the fuzzies. (I live out on the middle of no where - so I am not coating my neighbors in fur). The first time I did it, my husband came around from the garage worried that something had gotten our cat because of all the orange fur flying over the roof!

My dogs are pretty short haired - smooth border collie/heeler and a GSP. My cat is shorthaired too, but has such a thick, dense coat. He loves to get rid of his undercoat without wearing out his tongue.
