My fourteen month old Great Pyrenees LGD sleeps in a straw bale doghouse built off the side of the duck barn. Lately, I've been having to go into her house in the morning to collect a couple duck eggs that I figured she found and brought inside.

Tonight, I went to check on my ducks, and I heard some strange noise inside her dog house. When I shined the flashlight inside, I saw a muscovy hen laying next to the dog. Suddenly I realized that this has been going on for a while now, and was the reason why I have been finding eggs inside her house.

It was good to see the ducks finally accepting the dog, and I bet it has to do with her maturing as an LGD. Lately I've noticed that she walks very slowly around the ducks so as not to startle them.

That is so sweet! You need to try and get some pictures of that.

This was taken at 10:30 PM tonight. My dog's friend was sleeping with her inside the straw bale dog house.

The duck must really trust her. The dog house is only about 3 1/2 feet by 3 1/2 feet inside. I've been finding two eggs inside her house in the morning. I suspect there is another duck in there. Here's a closer shot.
