I went out tonight by myself (DH would not help me) and picked the lice egg clusters off of my roos butt. It was nasty. Here's a picture, my camera sucks so the picture is not to good but you can see one of the clusters was connected to 2 feathers so when I pulled the cluster I pulled out the feathers too. I'm lucky Colonel Bok Bok didn't kick my a$$.

I burned to egg clusters, I'm not taking any chances with those things coming back.

Good for you, Trisha! Now you can relax about the Colonel. Just dust the whole bunch from time to time to prevent anything being able to get a foothold. Did you get my email? I hope so-don't want you to think I was ignoring you, LOL.

Does it hurt to have the feathers pulled out? My one hen has a few feathers that looked like they are just laying there, I tried to pull one out and she jumped like it hurt. Even tho it didn't seem attatched it was not coming out easily. I felt horrible cause I think I hurt her. I never did get the feather she jumped away pretty quick. But their still there and bugs me to look at it. Kinda looks like someone was using her for dart pratice.

He jumped a little but I think he would take a couple of feathers being pulled over millions of lice bitting his butt.

Mine have wing feathers that look out of place every once in a while. Just leave it, it'll fall out on it's own.
