Hello, we have had an issue with lice for a while and treated them but there’s just one hen that doesn’t seem to be able to shake them .. literally. So she has gone down hill a little bit , we have brought her in , I have covered her in DE and now the lice are literally all over her ! Do they usually come up on top of the feathers when they are dying , a lot are falling of but I thought they preferred to hide under the feathers. Any advice welcome ! Picture attached , it makes me icky :( poor hen !

You are finding that DE is ineffective.
Go to your feed store and get a Permethrin Based poultry spray or dust. Treat the hens and your housing in 7 day intervals. If she's infested, then housing is too and likely the lice are migrating back onto the other birds as well.

If this hen is not doing well, she may have something else going on. Does she lay eggs? Consider getting a fecal float to see if worms are an issue as well.
