we bought six 3 day old japanese bantam chicks from a local guy's home. My wife noticed a louse on one of them today and there are a few places where they are missing down feathers. I have looked up treatment for poultry lice online, but none of the sites I've found mention treating chicks this young.
Any advise?

You can dust them with poultry dust you just have to use very little like dab your (gloved) finger in the powder and gently rub it all over the chicks fuzz. I had to do it once with some week old babies i purchased they survived just fine, actually looked like they were relieved and were certainly alot perkier

Not to be a pain, but I'm new to this forum and chicken ownership and I don't know all of your abbreviations. Can you tell me what DE dust and TSC are?

There is no stupid questions. When I first started investigating BYC, they was a lot of abbreviations I didn't know. It's a learning experience and great site with a lot of great info. I use Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE).
