Lice on chickens treatment

I bought the Permethrin 10 spray and I was planning on using it tonight. However, my chickens are in a big run and would rather be near the coop than not (eyeroll). I don't know how I am going to keep them out of the coop while I let it vent out. My little vents will take forever, so I have to open the door. How long will it take to vent out of a 10x10 coop (on average)?

Venting isn't an issue here either. 'Little vents' don't sound good to me either.

I have a product called Doktor Doom Lice killer plus and so far it's working I think? It's a spray killer and you mist the birds. Plus you treat the Coop and close for 15 minutes. Then ventilation is needed..

I know this is an old post but we just bought Doktor Doom as we have a bird with lice. We sprayed their vent and under their wings with it and now we are paranoid about when they are preening. I know it says it dries in 10-15 minutes, but now we are questioning if it was too much. Any input is greatly appreciated!

I used poultry lice dusy from the feed store. My friend and I forced all the chickens into the run then blocked off the coop. One of us held the birds and the other dusted them. The dusted birds were then thrown into the coop while the un- dusted ones remained in the run. The dusting itself was super easy. We were only 9 when we did it if that tells you anything! Be sure to (if you use the dust) especially dust under the wings, on the neck and vent area. I know a lot of people use fishing nets to catch chickens, they actually work quite well from what I've seen.

And one more thing to note, when we grabbed the birds we were sure to hold then upside down for a few seconds to calm them. It worked pretty well and since they were kind of out of it I didn't have to hold their wings even. Also be sure to check the coop bedding for lice. No sense in treating all the birds if the coop is still infested. Hope this helps

I can almost read it on the label... but not quite...

On the bottom of the can, it says "active ingredients"

And then, I think, Pymethrin (or however it is spelled) and the percent/concentration of the chemical in the spray.

However... if everyone is fine now, then I am sure that they will stay fine!
