lice or mites, i tell.

my chickens have some little whitish long bugs crawling on them by the feathers, and the one has really ugly mangy looking beard and sometimes they are round little redish ones. what are they? I sprayed with poultry protector, cleaned coop twice and sprayed the poultry protector in and around coop and used DE for the coop and have dusted them with it.

What else can I do for them? can my dogs get lice and mites from them? Can my family get lice and mites from them?

You and your other animals won't get the bugs, they are species specific. I'd use Sevin 5% garden dust. See here:
