Lice or mites

I think my chicken has either lice or mites! I picked her up yesterday and when she jumped off, I saw a little yellowish almost see through little bug on my arm which I proceeded to squish and kill (yuck!)

I've sprinkled Pestene powder all over the coop/nesting area and the chickens, who was not fond of me shaking powder on them! was a ball catching them (they run fast!).

What else should I be doing to get rid of the pests?

Here are some threads with some helpful suggestions. Make sure to provide dust bathing areas for your chickens.
At night, you can take a flashlight and go explore the feathers around their vents for lice and mites. Sometimes they are easier to see that way, and then you will know what your're dealing with. Good luck!

Thanks! Yes it was definitely lice, from the pics in that post! I'm going to give them another powder tonight and clean out the bedding and more powder in the coop/nesting boxes.

Hopefully that'll help clear it up.
