Lice or mites?

Today I found small, 2mm, pale bugs on my chickens. They were squashed, and elongated and they moved very slowly. So far I mostly found them at the wing area. I also found grey, white eggs on the feathers near the wing and vent/bottom area. Could these bugs be lice or mites? Lice are supposed to move fast, but these were crawling on the surface of their feathers very slowly. Arent Mites supposed to be round, speck like creatures? I'm totally lost on how how to identify them and how to treat, I am a newbie and never got this problem before.

No, I'm not an expert but I have tried a lot of different things. I only know what has worked for me on my birds.
