Lid to incubator fell off day one :( any chance they will be ok??

Hello everyone,

I'm completely new to hatching eggs. I just put eggs in an incubator Friday and and everything was fine up to last night. When I woke up this morning (Sunday) the lid was partially off. It appears the arm which turns the eggs wasn't seated properly and pushed itself off the tray causing the lid to lift off.

Any chance some of the eggs will survive?

They should be fine.
I had a power outage the day I first put my eggs into the incubator. Power was out the entire day. But the developing embryos were completely fine.

What brand of incubator are you using?

While hatching eggs is quite a science, remember that that chicken hasn’t read any books. My hens have been known to get off their egg clutch for quite some time and still the eggs hatch. I would proceed with your hatching protocol and see what happens. I’m thinking you’ll do fine with them. Do you plan to candle the eggs at any point?

I'm also using an incuview incubator.

They have a tendency of becoming too hot just to let you know. Do you have extra calibrated thermometers, & Hygrometers to monitor conditions in the incubator?

Yes I notice that too, the one I have is about 2-3 degrees too hot.

Yeah, mine would spike to 103.8°F, & 104.1°F. It was not good.
