Life Span Of Golden Comets

How long should "Golden Comets" live for..... and i will be buying them once they have starting laying eggs so how do i tell how old they are?

My oldest red stars, which are similar to a GC, are seven years old and just fine. They still lay and are over all, very pleasant hens.
