Lifespan

Does anyone know what the natural lifespan of a silkie is? Mine are just pets. Is there a difference in lifespan between hens and roos?

I will answer what little I know which is chickens can live past 10 if they are very lucky, but most don't. Six is considered very old and seems to be a regular geriatric max for most under ordinary conditions. That is all from tales I'm told, not personal experience. I have never had a silky, and know nothing about them, but I thought your question deserved a bump.
