I purchased an EcoGlow 1200 brooder plate and I am wondering if my 🐄 will need a small (maybe 15 watt) nightlight? Do they need to be able to find their food and water at night in the beginning? For how long do I have a nightlight, if any? My 23 chicks are being delivered sometime the 1st week of June. I will be keeping them in a brooder box outside in their coop. I live in NE Wisconsin.

No, they do not need a nightlight :)
Once they go under their heat plate automatically as it starts to get dark, they will stay under until morning light and do not come out to feed or drink in the dark, it is a wonderful way for them to adapt to the normal cycle of night and day, unlike chicks that are raised under a lamp :)
One thing I would say, is that when you get them, after you have dipped their beaks into the water , just gently put them under the brooder plate until they feel the warmth, so they learn where to go to when they need to warm up.
Enjoy your little ones and have fun!
