Light and Coronation Sussex

I have 2 with minor toe issues, one has more of a problem. All Coronation cockerels, the pullets are fine. The lights have no problems.

I found mine with the beginnings of frostbite. I locked him in the coop, dried off his feet and sat him on a ladder under the heat lamp for a while. His toes were like blocks of ice, literally. He did not lose the toes but instead, they got very fat & swollen looking because of the tissue damage. I can't show him now because of that but because it's not genetic, I'm keeping him as breeder.

I am glad you were able to catch yours in time. I didn't. I was looking at combs not toes. Just not enough experience on my part. But he gets along fine and is a fantastic roo to his girls.

Did his toes stay swollen?
