Light Brahman are they good broody wise?

I have a light brahma I've heard Cochins are good so I thought my light brahma would be good

Only if she actually sets. Brahmas are noted for being pretty good broodies, but a lot of hatchery stock won't set.

My light brahma never went broody.

Neither did mine. I was not in love with them anyway.

Off topic, but the bantam Brahmas I've had were delightful! Not broody, though.

Bought a few light brahmas just for brooding along with my Jersey giants.. Haven;t had a broody brahma yet and they're now almost 3 yrs old. My jersey giants on the other hand have gone broody many times with successful hatches. If you want a chicken mainly for brooding purposes i'd go with the silkie.

My best broodies have been Belgian d'Uccles and BLR Wyandottes. One of my newer bantam EE hens is acting broody, but hasn't had a chance to raise chicks yet.
