Light Brown Leghorn Hen critique

I used to be one of those who didn't like them and didn't want them. I remembered the ones we had when I was a child and had not seen anything that compared as an adult. However, I unintentionally wound up with a group of them and I just love them.

Hi,
Breeders who have high quality Light Brown Leghorns and have won big at huge shows. Call them. If in Canada, ask them who has SQ stock in the USA. They will know. These are the folk who can either sell you top stock or lead you down the road to someone near you. Ask educated questions. Get to know their strains before you call. Never ask about price first. Don't be surprised if they don't sell eggs or chicks. Many top breeders only sell started birds because they want birds to go out which are respresentive of their efforts.
Best,
Karen

Thank you 3riverschick. I always see your replies and they are SO helpful and informative.

I didn't think that place has been active in forever.
Its only for brown leghorn so not much for leghorn of all color fans anyways.
I've looked for leghorn clubs on and off for years and have never found one that was active for more then a year or so if at all.
Always get a chuckle when people say go join a breed club. Would if I could. Strange a bird as well known as leghorns can't keep a club going. Always wonder what other breeds have no active clubs.

It is strange.
The feathersite lists a lot of breed clubs for various breeds but I tried to access some of those listed for leghorns. All their links are no longer active.

maybe start looking for poultry lit sellers which have yearbooks and newsletters from these defunct Clubs. Maybe find some lit from classic Leghorn breeders there?
