Regarding brown leghorns: I have dominiques now and they day-range,I open the coop at daybreak and in the evening they go back to the coop and I close it up. If I get brown leghorns can I expect them to go to roost in the coop at night also. Thanks

I find all my birds return to roost at night. The only time my birds didn't was when their coop was very crowded and it was very cold. My leghorns actually go to bed before many of my other breeds do.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, My doms are great chickens but mine are really broody and so I have these 15 +- day gaps when they don't lay even after I've broken them from setting. I'm thinking the brown leghorns will fill in the gaps.
