This is our first time ever to own chickens , so please forgive my ignorance ahead of time...

My husband and I were moving our 27 chicks from one side of our coop to the other and the clip-on light bulb fell off and landed on top of one of the chicks feet.
His foot swelled and appeared to be blistered, my husband popped the blister and we put a bandaide on it.
His foot is now a blackish color and we dont know what to do.
Has anything like this ever happened to any of you here before? if so, What can I do to save his foot or get him back to normal? He can walk on it and he limps a little , he lifts it as he walks.
We have seperated him from the other chicks , because we feared he would be pecked at or something, i read somewhere that an injured chick will be pecked at by the other chickens, sometimes being pecked to death.
I Dont know if thats true or not but we wanted to be cautious.
These are Cross Rock chicks and I know they are expected to get really big ,really fast and they need thier feet to support thier weight. I really dont want to put him down. But I will if needs be.
TIA
Thank In Advance for any and all comments,
Kay

In the future, when a burn occurs, don't pop the blister. It is best if it remains intact, whether it's on an animal or human. I'm sorry I can't offer any advice on the current situation. I hope it is something that can heal without complications.

Thank you for your help.
I checked him this morning and he seems to be
doing better.
I think in a few days he will be ok.
