By November, he'll be a beautiful bird. He might be a Blue melanistic?...still too early to tell.
He certainly isn't a 'normal' looking melanistic....he doesn't have white primaries like most do at that age.

I absolutely will, as your input is always a treat. It's interesting how different all of my melanistics look....there's quite a variety. Hoping to get pictures of my younger, chocolate-colored group soon.

Just as a side note - I actually find these guys to have superb color.....this picture was taken on a rather overcast day.

Females are harder to tell, unless you know for sure which color variation it came from....look like green, though!
