Light Sussex Laying Under 12 Eggs!

My light sussex hen (Dorothy) is laying under 12 fertalized eggs

Ive heard of hens laying on 10 but 12 i was suprised i could even fit them under her

My Light Sussex (who was called Mother Hen

) once went on the compost heap and sat on 14 eggs and 10 hatched well, 3 are still alive and just celebrated their 4th birthday!

I had a hen in the spring that sat on 20! 14 of them hatched. She hid the nest and I didnt find it until she had been sitting on them for two weeks.
