Lighting for chicks with no electricity - HELP!

And propane heat near a cardboard box = fire.
Propane heat in a box = no oxygen.
Handwarmers
Back/muscle warmers
Water bottles/gallon jugs.
cigarette lighters and light bulb

If you used a wire dog crate with a draft barrier on three sides you could use the propane heater outside it on the open end with care.

I use wire crates when I sell for visibility when I can.

Good luck

If you can get them cheaply, you might pick up some extra hand warmers and send one with each batch of chicks you sell. . . Charge extra if you have to. ?

Good luck!

my mom just picked up a heater at walmart for the baby birds this weekend...
it's in the 'car' section at walmart and it's a little black heater that plugs into the cig.lighter in the car...About $10 or so....

hand warmers are a good idea....
or taking old socks, fill with rice heat in microwave(if it's not for a super long trip/swap)
hot water bottles/plastic bottles filled with hot water
thermos filled with hot water...

for lighting you could always go to a dollar store and get glow sticks, or they have flameless candles that are the size of tealights run on batteries, or they have those push lights sometimes see them in closets or even dresser drawers...
