Lighting & heating the coop? Chicks hatched July 21st

Dear PatandChickens,
If 35/40 degrees is Much, Much warmer than they need, at WHAT temperature would you say they could use a little warming up?

Typically, cold-hardy breeds in good conditions will be happy as clams down to the teens F, many will be fine down to 0 F, some considerably lower, but, like I say, it depends and really your best informants are the chickens themselves. Keep an eye on their combs, their behavior.

Livestock management really doesn't lend itself terribly well to cookbook rules, it really is in large part 'the eye of the master maketh the ox fat' or chicken happy.
