I have 15 chicks that are 29 days old: Should I let a light on in the coop through the night and on cloudy days?

Do you mean a heat lamp? I wouldn't leave a light on - I don't think chickens are afraid of the dark - it's their time to snuggle in and snooze like everyone else.

Yeah, they need to sleep at night so you wouldn't want to leave the light on.

It all depends on the temperature. If it's cool, then I would use a light since they are so young. If it's warm...they don't need it.

Ok. Thank you all very much. I've been leaving a light on just incase anyone got hungry during the night.

At 4 weeks old...hmmm...I'd probably start leaving it off. Little ones do eat even during the night, but they're probably old enough not to do that at this point. Or you could give it one more week - or maybe just a nightlight for another week or two??
