Like What I'm Seeing

This is my first go round with Blk Australorps. They are going on 6 wks and are active, curious and alert. King of the water tower seems to be their game, one gets up another knocks it off and round and round they go. Our Morkie checks on them all day and they run to the side to chk him out of curiosity. They peep he whimpers.. I'm glad to have stepped out of my Rock Box but they have that Rock type build. Setting up a bigger brood area in the coop because their growth is overtaking the dog crate. Plus we have more Lorps coming middle of March. This breed is pushing for a spot on my favorite list.

I've heard great things about Australorps, and I hope to get one in the future. I hope you get some video of King of the Water Tower

I love my Black Aussies. Mine are calm, docile, not flighty, handle cold weather very well (need shade in summer!), and are the best momma hens I've had. Tend to go broody often, though.

I have a special needs Australorp. They are very good birds. Good temperament. Hardy. I know I've had Australorps in the past that lay well but Mama Toe is nowhere near earning her keep. Like I said though, she is the exception. They are a great breed.
