Hello! My family (my partner and our two children) decided we would like to have fresh eggs and thus recently invested in two Americanas and two Rhode Island Reds. We are very excited about raising them, and are already enjoying getting to know their quirky personalities! They are only about five weeks old, so we are still keeping them in a giant box with corncob litter, while we finish up their unconventional coup this week in our shed. During the day, however, we keep them in a shaded part of the yard in our chocolate lab's cage (without the tray so that they can have access to the ground). We are very new to chickens and I joined because I'm sure I'll have tons of questions along the way!!!!
(This is a picture from the day we brought them home. They are bigger, and not still in this little tub
