Hi,
A hardscape business moved in just down the road from us. I passed it the other day and noticed they are selling limestone dust. So what do you think of using it to floor my poultry yard? I know it's a good substance, helps control harmful pathogens. What I don't know is if the dust is ok. I know crushed limestone is, I just don't want to use crushed. Think it needs the dust mixed with sand? Is there a silica issue?
Thanks for any help you can give. I have white birds and want to get them off the brown dirt.
Best,
Karen in PA

I don't have any experience/knowledge of limestone dust, with that being said, it seems to me that you could have issues with it when it gets wet and then dries. It might harden into a solid mass after getting wet and then drying.

You can always ask the yard what it will be like when it gets wet and then dries
