Can I safely use a limestone underbase for the coop run? Topping off with sand? or pea gravel?

My coop was a shed that had no floor and was on 6" runners - so I had a 6" gap under the front and back wall. I laid wire on the ground and stacked cinder blocks under the wall then filled the floor with crushed granite (we call it crush & run or driveway base). So far it's worked out wonderful. I will be picking gravel out for a long time as the stone-dust part packs down but the drainage is wonderful. I dropped a water-er the other day and a qt of water almost instantly disappeared into the floor. No running, no puddling, just gone.
Here's a pict - I was just getting ready to add more shavings so it's kinda poopy.
