Liming the Chicken Coop

My husband built a larger coop for our five chickens that I want him to paint with lime on the inside. He doesn't want to wait until I go buy the lime, he wants to move the coop into the run and then spray the lime afterwards. Is this safe for the girls? TIA!

Barn lime? If they are not in the coop when it's sprayed should be fine

I think its hydrated lime (I personally don't know the difference).

@duluthralphie I went to Tractor Supply and told them what I wanted the lime for and that is exactly what they gave me, thanks!
