Hi all,
My 7 month old speckled Sussex is limping. I noticed yesterday a little bit but it is definitely much worse today. It looks bruised and I don’t see anything resembling bumble foot but these are my first chickens. She’s not laying yet. Was eating and drinking. But than just standing around holding her foot up 😞 I was able to get a vet appointment for tomorrow afternoon. She is sleeping now in a lower spot separate from the others. There’slike a little bench below the roost than they use to get up but I think her foot hurts her and she doesn’t wanna jump. I’m worried because it’s below 30 here and now she won’t have the others to keep her warm. I’m attaching some photos and a video to see if anyone has thoughts on what’s wrong. And any advice on what I should do with her tonight? Can I put her up there and go out super early to help her down??

won’t let me post the video but it’s an obvious limp

It does look bruised and swollen. It's possible she jumped down from a high place and landed wrong. As long as she's not in a draft she should be OK with temps below 30. Do you have another place to put her. Possible a cage where she she can be kept still and stay off her foot?

I just put her in a cat carrier with pine shavings and a blanket over it but took the door off so hopefully she realizes to stay in. Although I was just out there in the coop doing that and it’s definitely warmer than outside. I do have an old dog crate but it will only fit in the run. I was thinking to keep her there during the day to keep her still but I worry that she won’t have the option to get indoors than. I managed to get a vet appointment nearby tomorrow after 2 hours of phone calls. But I agree I think she landed wrong I don’t know if they’ll be much that they can do
