Limping chicken

I noticed this morning that one of my chickens was limping and barely putting any pressure on her left foot. She doesn't want to walk and is just sitting in the corner of the coop like it hurts her to move. After inspection of the leg and foot, I don't see anything out of place, no cists or signs of a wound. Anyone have any ideas?

Chickens can limp for many reasons. Since you see nothing visible wrong, and she seems to be in pain, I would suspect a sprain, bruise, or hairline fractured bone. I would isolate her in a clean, well bedded place with feed and water within easy reach. Don't give her a roost, since you don't want to aggravate the injury further. Try to keep her quiet, and with a few days to a few weeks of rest, she should recover.
