I have 7 10 to 12 week old hens, 3 of which i got about 2 weeks ago. I kept them apart for about a week and they are integrated now. There is still some conflict between the new and old birds but nothing I am worried about. They chase each other a but and sometimes peck but it feels pretty normal (?)

Yesterday I noticed that one of my original birds, a speckled sussex was limping. It didn’t seem too bad but I checked her out anyways. There are no visible injuries and I’m almost positive that none of her toes are broken.
This morning I noticed that the limping has gotten significantly worse. She has been laying down most of the day but when she walks its almost like she’s just dragging her body along by her one leg. I checked it out this morning as well and there is still no sign of an injury. The very bottom of her foot seemed a tiny bit warmer than the other but other than that nothing that seemed out of the ordinary.
My main question is if anyone can help me figure out what is wrong with her. I hate to see her in pain but I have no idea what to do! She HATES being picked up which isn’t making this any easier.
But I’m also wondering if i should separate the old and new birds again? At first it seemed like my original birds were just picking on the new ones but now it seems as though the 3 new birds are doing more of the aggressing. Its not super violent, the will run at my original birds but there isn't much more than that. They have only been living together fully for about 5 days so I want to think that they are just reestablishing their pecking order but I’ve never done this before so I don’t want to screw it up and have a flock that fights forever.
Any and all advice is very much appreciated!!

Hi @Graceamjaf how is your chicken today? I’m sorry no one checked on you sooner

Thats ok! I have been preoccupied with anyother one of my girls. Phoebe (with the limp) is doing better pain wise, she doesn’t cry anymore but she now only hops on her working foot, the other one seems almost unusable now. It’s obviously not ideal, and I really want to fix it but I’m not as concerned as before because she doesn’t seem to be in pain anymore. There are still no signs of injury but it just kind of hangs limp.

Is her foot swollen? Still warm to the touch compared to the other foot? I’m dealing with similar symptoms in one of my birds. The vet thinks it may be a fracture but I didn’t pay for x rays. Can you post pics?

Sorry about your chicken limping. Do you have any pictures of the leg? Was there any swelling around the foot or leg, redness, or green bruising? If it is hanging limp, it sounds like a serious injury.

I am having the same issue with Stella here.

Hi all,
Thank you for all the responses, i didn’t see all of these until now! Phoebe’s foot hasn’t gotten worse since the last time i posted but i did take a video and a few photos. Her right foot is the injured one.
