Limping hen?

Okay I thought I would ask for some more help as this poor girls does not seem to be any better. I did the vitimines and the only thing that seem to happen is she ate alot more. She still does not put her foo down, but does bend it at the knee and thigh. It just seems to be th foot. It is warm to the touch not cold or hot. She has been in the rabbitt hutch now for three weeks. I have let her out twice but put her back in when she had a hard time getting in the coop for food or water. So is there anything else to try? Or is time the only thing and how much time. She gets around great inside the hutch, but I'm thinking that is not really a life.

I've been having the same problem - my hen started out limping, then went to hopping on one leg. Mine does have some nasal discharge though. I have given her supplements in her water and she's eating and drinking but doesn't look happy.

But nothing looks wrong with her foot at all - no swelling, no redness, no sores. She just doesn't want to put it down. I have been reading through my "Chicken Health Handbook" but can't find anything that really resembles what she's got. The ones that are closest are bumblefoot (but she has no sores on her feet) and perhaps staphylococcic arthritis, but that seems more severe than how she's acting.

How are the droppings from your hen? Mine has watery brown droppings.

Her droppings are all normal as well as eating and drinking. She moves her leg up and down, but she does rest on the "elbow" and now it looks a little scuffed up. It appears to be just her foot won't work.

I've had a hen for over a year now and she has been limping since last summer. I contimplated sending her to chicken heaven, but my grandparents suggested just waiting and see what happened. She is still happy, but limps around. She can run if she wants (it just looks funny when she does). I'm sure your girl will be just fine

Back from the vet's and nothing on the xray. Thinks it might just be something with the nerves so we are starting a 10 run of Prednisone. Hope this will help. She is so pretty and sweet. Vet could not believe how calm she is. Will keep you posted
