Hello! I have a hen who has started limping on one leg today- I haven't gotten a close inspection yet but I don't see an obvious injury. The past 2 days she's been following the flock around but then just kind of standing off to the side by herself not digging or anything. Her poop seems watery. Ideas ?? What can I do? Thanks in advance!

I have one that started limping yesterday. I brought her in and soaked her feet in warm epsom salt water for about 5 minutes, then inspected. She has some green thing on the top of her foot, later determined to be possibly an infection inside her foot.

In the case of yours, she may have this or it may be bumblefoot, or it might be sprained. Soak her feet and see what you can tell. If you can't see anything wrong, like injury or ingrown feather, etc., then maybe it's a sprain. I'd give her half of a human B-Complex daily along with the Poultry Cell water as both will help her heal faster.

If you see a scab or sign of bumblefoot or other infection, then that takes a different course of action.

I have a chicken (Isa Brown) that is showing the same symptoms. What ended up being the case with the above chickens?
Thanks,

She limped for a few days and then started to molt! In January in WI lol. She seems totally fine otherwise- I hope the same ends up being true for you!
