my 14 month old pekin female has developed a limp.it started about a week ago and its been getting a little worse each day and theres a bump on her left middle finger and it MIGHT be developing a white head and it MIGHT have a splinter stuck in it too but its embedded and i dont think i can remove it without causing her some discomfort...any advice ? a vet is gonna be costly and i dont mind getting in there myself to help my critters ! any advice before i start in with the peroxide, gloves, squeezing, cutting and tweezing ? or am i pretty much on the right track already ? it also occurs to me that i might need to wait a little longer and if its like a human getting a boil then it might just scab over in a few days and peel open, instead of trying to squeeze and mash on the bump and possibly making a tiny incision to her ? she just looks pitiful and i gotta help her even if i HAFTA drive her in to a vet...but i bet theres a solution that i can carry out myself with my own skills and the local tractor supply if i need meds ? lol...thank yawl !

i will get a picture when i get home.thats whats im thinking, bumblefoot due to a foreign object...and yes i have some drawing salve.should i just apply liberally or fashion a bandage ?

Sure looks like something is in there. Might try soaking her foot in some nice warm Epsom salt water soften up the skin and then try to pick open right where you see the tiny scab sterile tweezers might work, you can also soak then use colorless iodine for few days And see if that helps bring it to the surface. I read that combination works well.
