Linoleum on floor of new coop-Sliding chickens-BAD! What to do?

LOL hydroplaning turkeys :D okay---maybe I'm getting myself into something I ought reconsider before I commit to getting my own small flock. hmmm...nah, I'm determined. So, I'm sure there are special tools out there for screening the litter--there are always special tools for every job no matter how rediculously unnecessary it is. But, I'm wondering what is your favorite tool or method for screening or raking it out? I'm imagining something like a colander made out of 1/2" wire mesh??

I know there are quite a few threads about the `best tools' for cleaning poop from sand - some folks just use the ubiquitous cat scoopers - others modify the distance between the tines of rakes, etc. (I'm sure someone will chime in).

We have hinged, 2"x4" roosts in turkey shed, and the roosts in chicken coop can be slid out of their brackets. One of us just puts on gloves, flips a 5 gal. bucket on its side and scrapes up fouled straw/wood chips/cwap/ along `roost lines' into bucket (takes about 10 min. a day) then tosses on some fresh chips/straw, folds down/slips in - roosts and that's that. We also have amorphous diatomaceous earth that we mix with chips (absorbs moisture and is a somewhat useful insecticide if the air isn't too humid). The only time the birds get down to the sand is in the winter when they wimp out and want to dirt bathe indoors (more sand/more clean bedding/no problem)
