Lionhead Angora Eye Color Question

Good Afternoon! We have two buns and are expecting our first litter. Our doe is an White English Angora Lionhead with Ruby eyes and our buck is a White & Black Lionhead with Blue Eyes. I was wondering if he is Vienna Marked. Either way should be some adorable kits.

Thanks! That is what I thought ... we have concluded that he is a dutch lionhead as well.

No, there most likely is no Dutch in him at all. Two copies of the Vienna gene gives you a white rabbit with blue eyes. A rabbit that has only one copy of the Vienna gene usually has some white markings, and may or may not have blue eyes. This is what is known as Vienna Marked. For some reason, the white markings of a Vienna marked rabbit often look a lot like the markings of a Dutch rabbit; in fact, we used to call them "psuedo-Dutch." It shouldn't be confused with the real Dutch, it doesn't work with the real Dutch, it just happens to resemble it somewhat.

Ok thanks again. That clears quite a bit up. We are not sure of his parentage and have been trying to figure out what he is .. does not look entirely straight lionhead.
