Salcha, Alaska
Hello,
Well I will say that living in Alaska has its down side, there are no famous names coming to the interior...no huge ginormous music festivals, no west end shows, we barely get new movies a the cinema it seems (only the big movies none of the small idie films and especially, no British films)...and no shopping to compensate.

But the Spanish Riding School of Vienna is coming and I have tickets, I see them on the 1st August. Im so excited, this is a once in a lifetime chance.

I have always wanted to see them since my dad told me all about them when I was a very little girl.

Im also so lucky that my husband also wants to see them...so I have a willing show partner too!

Has anyone seen them perform?

I have seen them perform right at the school in Austria as well as in Florida. An amazing show. Enjoy!

They have been up here twice before I have gotten to see them then. Its a good show tons of amazing photos if you can be middle arena floor level first row. You will have a blast! The people are very nice as well. Enjoy

We got second row seats!!

I will take my camera, and I will post pictures.

I was surprised to see that they had been up here before... although I am only into my third year here...

I would love to go to see them in Vienna...maybe if we get stationed back in England, its really onely ahop skip and a jump to Austria...

But at least I can tick this off my Must do/see list....

the tickets were a bargain too only $37.00...i thought that was quite cheap for the Carlson Centre!?!

I got to see them once a long time ago at columbus, ohio. When I was a kid there was a movie about their escape during wwII, sort of a sound of music without the singing, and horses instead of 8 kids.

No one will believe this probably but when I was a junior in high school, our dance team somehow was involved with helping at the football stadium they performed at. My best friend was on the dance team and since she knew I loved horses, asked if I wanted to help with her. Of course I did. When we got there, some of the girls were "helping to hold the horses" when they came off the field. These girls were jiggling, and squealing. Every time a horse would move or shift its feet, they would squeal. So, I ended up being one of the main holders that night. Talk about a rush! Having a magnificent stallion in each hand, prancing and tossing. I will never forget. I went back both nights they performed. They are so beautiful.

Hi! You are in for such a treat!
I took my Mom, my little sis, and 2 best horse-buds to see a performance and we were all just blown away.
I was in tears for a great part of the show (I'm such a sap). I went to a couple of other shows just by myself --- so I could just enjoy it without distractions.
They are really awesome horses with awesome riders.
