liquid niacin

Ok, new question. Can you safely inject liquid niacin into a duck? If so, best method, in the meat or under the skin?

I had never considered doing that. Generally the niacin in water seems to work pretty well.

I got a duck from someone, and it has a severely crippled leg. Have been crushing and mixing niacin tabs in the water. The tabs don't seem to dissolve very well, and with the sloppy drinking habits, can't be sure how much she is actually getting. Have been medicating a little over a week and haven't seen any improvement. I thought if i could just inject it and let it absorb hat way i could more closely regulate it. In humans, some meds injected in the body can cause major issues, i am sure it is the same with animals. Don't want to do any more damage.

I see your line of thinking. But I don't have background with injectable vitamins. Sure hope someone else can come it who has.

Injectable vitamins are specially formulated for that purpose. You can not use oral vitamins either IM or IV. Retired Nurse.
