Listless chick, fading fast

I noticed today that one of my 4 day old chicks was not moving around much. I isolated her and checked for pasty butt. Her vent isn't blocked but she has runny yellow poop just sort of oozing out (sorry, it's as nasty as it sounds) She won't eat or drink on her own, but will take some sugar water from a dropper. She isn't moving around, just sleeps under the light, though she puts up a good fight every time I pick her up. I don't know what else to do. I have too many chicks as it is, so I knew I would have to cull them one day, but I just hate seeing her in distress.

If she is hanging around under the light, she might be cold. You can try warming up a towel in the microwave and wrapping it around her. We've lost chicks too, and I know how hard it is. I wish you luck. Sugar water and the warm towel really seemed to help ours.

I just got them Friday morning. The weak baby died this afternoon. I tried sugar water, warm towel, even sang to her, but I think she was just one of those failure-to-thrive chicks. All my other chicks are doing very well, but I am keeping a very close eye on them.

ChrissyNC , just saw this post and I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
Know in your heart that your little peep felt your kindness and had a gentle hand and a soft voice to reassure her in her passing.
I just went through a similar situation and everyone here made me feel so much better when they made me realize that. Hang in there. You did your best!
