Little black spot in eggs when I break open.

I don't know why but there is a black spot in the eggs when I crack them open. Only one it looks like a piece of pepper? Is this ok? I have no roosters, and allow my hens to free range at least 3 hours a day. Thanks so much.

You can search meat spot or blood spot... it will be one of those two. It happens sometimes.

The hens just started laying eggs the last couple of weeks, matter of fact one hasn't started yet. Is there anything that I should do to prevent the meatspots? they freerange a lot and have lots of snacks, and eat Purina layer chicken feed. THey love, watermelon, berries, mealworms and bread along with leftover salad

Nothing you can do, crack eggs into a glass so you can see that before adding to your food . If they bother you, I just whip them up and enjoy
