I hatched some Turkey chicks earlier this week.. and it's my first time hatching Turkey's... they all have a little raised bump on their heads, in the area where the beak starts coming out from the head. Anybody know what that is?

Yeah I thought it was probably normal, but just wasn't sure why they have it... they look like little unicorns..

Yep SNOOD, and when they're older and they're boys it gets huge..... when they display or get happy. And shrinks right up when they're frightened or threatened or even angry... (LONG Pause for COMMENTS that I am NOT making in comparison) Jake can hardly take corn from my hand because it gets in the way, silly ol bird.

The girl's ones never get very big.

Awesome, thanks for the answer.. I guess I've never paid a great deal of attention to adult turkey's faces before. I know the chicks are very cute, I'm not sure what kind they are, all of them are kind of white with redish spots.. except one, he/she is all black with black legs too.

The white ones you speak of probably are Bourbon Reds and the black one is a Black Spanish 100%
