Little Children and Little Quail

navasima,
Now I wouldn't recommend a tarantula...I love them and have had them, but they really aren't for little ones. If spooked, they can shake off the hairs on their legs and cause irritation.

now a Leopard Gecko would be an awesome choice! Large, slow, easy to handle, sweet, fun colors!! and as far as the new food source... meal worms, and raise you own, cheap and easy! and GREAT treats for the quail!
I know, I own 2 leopard's!

True that Critters Place! Leopards are great! I like Bearded Dragons and Savannah monitors too, but I have always bred my own mice for feeders, so that would mean a whole 'nother project.....

So it looks like I'm just going to have to get an incubator! {sigh} Gosh! What else can I do? {-doing my best to look put upon-is it working?} I've been wanting Seramas, so those will happen eventually, but not as house pets...

Were getting Bearded Dragons next! My son has been wanting some, so maybe christmas. Every time we go to pets mart, the have the cutest little face's and remind me of pups, all wanting to go home with you!

My Leopards' are right next to the incubator, share the table! So every time I check eggs, I play with them too. They are very tame ! I like to bring them out to hang out at the computer with me in the evenings too.

How about a small group of pet mice? They come in an endless array of really cool colors, they're smart and funny and cute, and they can become quite tame with handling. Even when not tame, they are almost always gentle.

They can be stinky, but the smell can be controlled if the cage is kept clean. Baking soda under the bedding works wonders.

Another option--maybe a corn snake? Corn snakes are wicked cool, very clean, very docile, and fun. Does she like snakes?
