Thank you for your introduction, it's nice to meet you!Hi! I am joining BYC though I have been following for about 10 years. This is my 4th time raising chickens in that time. I started 10 years ago when we moved to a rural county in N. California and raised 4 chickens in town. I met a wonderful man and we joined families and raised up to 20 birds at a time. We moved our family and 24 ducks and chickens to a large ranch in Mendocino County during the pandemic. Our flock was decimated by a pair of bobcats. The surviving ladies were relocated. I was heartbroken and we paused on raising chickens until we could build a more secure coop and run closer to our house. We now have a big garden, new coop almost complete and are now expecting the arrival of 28 new chicks! Barred Rocks, Americaunas and Buff Orpingtons. We have 4 cats and a Queensland heeler/australian Sheperd mix. I work from home and am very excited to hang out with our new flock. I decided it was time to join BYC instead of just standing on the sidelinesPictures of the coop to come soon.
