I only put one layer on but i think im going to put on another layer here

As long as you start with a partial opening and slowly close it I think they'll be able to learn to push through it. At least mine have.

Well now none of them are using it they are just sitting under the coop up on the legs of the coop

no blocking front door... you would basically have to build a wind block wall and place it far enough back as to not impede on ramp. like they have for picnic tables at many highway rest stops to provide wind relief

what i am presently doing is cutting logs starting at 2.5' long and increasing by 12" upto 5.5' then back down again to 2.5'. then standing them up on end setting them in the ground a bit to help hold in place and setting up to create a small semi circle wall to stop direct wind flow into the coop, also provide a snow block. the open part of the log wall has natural protections from existing trees and hill. i am wondering if that will be enough though???? i live in the mountains so it does get cold here... i am liking the rubber flap idea....
